OBITUARY.
Died, on Thursday, Sept, 29, 1899, Geo. Usher, after a brief illness, of trouble of the stomach.
He was born, Dec. 25, 1845, near Montreal, Canada, and at twelve years of age moved with his parents to Illinois where he resided until he was eighteen years old, when he came to Iowa and has since made this state his home. Mr. Usher has been a citizen of Nashua for several years and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a good honest, industrious man and will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters and especially by the sister with whom he has made his home for several years, and been her main stay.
Deceased was converted and united with the M. E. church in February, 1898, and died firm in the belief of his Saviour. It is a consolation to the bereaved brothers and sisters to know that when he was called to cross the mystic river, he was ready and willing to meet his God.
The funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. W. B. Davis officiating, and the burial was at Oak Hill cemetery.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
