Obituary of John Schultz.
John Schultz, a long time resident of this community passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 1829, at his home, three and one half miles north of Nashua, at one o’clock, at the age of 64 years 11 months and 20 days.
The deceased was born in Germany, July 5, 1864, and when eight years old he came to America with his parents, and settled in Pleasant Valley for a few years, and then moved to Bradford township, where he grew to manhood.
In 1882 he was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Molzoff, who preceded him in death, in the year 1888. In 1890 he again was untied in marriage, this time to Miss Marie Hartsfeldt of Mason City, Iowa. To this union six children were born.
Besides his widow, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Rosa Ross of Mason City; Mrs. Martha Cocherell, Keosauqua, Ia.; Mrs. Lena Cawley and Mrs. Elsie Smoth, both of Mason City, and Charlie and Alva at home; one sister, Mrs. Francis Savener, one brother, Mr. Peter Schultz both of Nashua, and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. Michael’s Church Friday, at 10 a. m., Rev. B. A. Erdland officiating, and interment was in St. Michael’s cemetery, beside his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schultz, two brothers, Andrew and Tom, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Sheldon.
