Ackhasenh “Ack” Cavan, 24, of Mason City, IA, died Sunday, May, 1, 2016, following a house fire at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. with visitation prior from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City. The Rev. Tom Lovan will be officiating.

A private family burial will be held at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.

Ackhasenh was born on Aug. 12, 1991, in Cambridge, Ontario, to Noi and Naly Cavan. He attended Mason City Schools and graduated from Forest City High School in 2009. Ackhasenh was an extremely hard worker and worked for Winnebago, Cargill and most recently, Blue Sky Satellite. He would often work 12 or more hour shifts weeks in a row; his employers and co-workers thought very highly of him.

In his free time he loved going to concerts and festivals with his friends (too many to name) and girlfriend of 5 years, Samantha. Ackhasenh lived life to the fullest and enjoyed having a good time. He liked fishing, music and food. Ackhasenh’s favorite was home cooked meals at his grandmother’s house. He treasured his family and the time spent together. Ackhasenh had a big heart and a lot of love for Samantha, his family and friends. Ackhasenh was also a very generous person; always willing to help out anyone in need. Ackhasenh touched many lives; he will be remembered for the laughter he created, friendships he shared and generosity he gave.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Noi and Naly Cavan; sisters, Thavisinh Cavan and Kenora Cavan; grandma Hieng; special friend, Samantha Lievrouw; nieces, Emily Brown and Sabrina Brown; nephews, Alex Lee and Jhaidyn Williams and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by grandpas, Koung Hoang and Pang Cavan and grandma, La Lothi.
