Mrs. George Oxley, who has been a resident of this county forty-six years, passed away at her home southwest of town Tuesday night after only a few days illness although she had been in poor health several months. Louisa Hugh, was born at Delhi, iowa, September 1st, 1859 and moved with her parents to Cerro Gordo county in 1875, settling on a farm in Union township. March 4, 1884, she was united in marriage to George V. Oxley who preceded her in death thirteen years ago. Mrs. Oxley came as a bride to the farm in Clear Lake township, which has since been her home. Always mindful of the comfort and happiness of others, she was a loving mother, kind neighbor, loved by all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Stanfield, Mrs. Pearl Hickok and Miss Alice Oxley, and three sons, Will, Vern, and Harry and one granddaughter, Marcia Hickok. Also six brothers and one sister, Tom Hugh of South Dakota, George, Andrew, Oscar, Will and Frank and Miss Libbie Hugh all of clear Lake mourn her death.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. B. Milne.

FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED

Old friends and neighbors of Mrs. George Oxley pay last tribute of respect

The funeral of the late Mrs. George Oxley last Thursday afternoon was very largely attended. She was an old resident, having lived here since 1875. During these long years she made many acquaintances and warm friends who were anxious to show their respect for the deceased.

Rev. W.B. Milne conducted the funeral services at the home. W. W. Connelly provided special music for the funeral, Mrs. Frances Miller accompanying.

The out of town persons who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Hickok, Ventura; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Oxley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Oxley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oxley and family and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Oxley and family all of Corwith.
