Martin Mortensen, 76, died at 10 a.m. Sept. 27 at his home at 104 6th St., Tipton, from a heart attack.

He was born Oct. 28, 1888, in Denmark to Mikkel and Anenielsen Mortensen and was an employee of Sears Roebuck & Co., Chicago, Ill., for a number of years. He married Ruth Christiansen Feb. 25, 1922, in Wilton Junction. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood at Chicago, Ill. He had resided in Tipton six months.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Tipton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Christina Mortensen.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Griffith Funeral home in Wilton Junction with the Rev. Homer Perry officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sept. 28. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetery, Wilton Junction.
