10 November 1903 - The Tipton Advertiser

Noah Walters was born March 11, 1819, in Hamilton county, Ohio, where he lived until the spring of 1845, when he came to Iowa to find a location to pursue his trade, he being a blacksmith, after which he returned to Dearborn county, Ind., where he was married to Elizabeth Vandolah July 20th. From there he moved to Rochester, where he made his future home. Three daughters were born to this union--Indiana, Marsha Ellen and Mary Elizabeth, all of whom, with his wife, preceeded him to Heaven.

He became a Christian early in life, uniting with the Protestant Methodist church when it was organized at Rochester, and continued an active member until his death. He passed quietly away Nov. 5, 1903, being 84 years, 7 months and 24 days of age. He was laid to rest in the Rochester cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by County Missionary S. B. Doty.
