DIED--On Wednesday morning, March 18th, 1891, at 12:50 o'clock, Mrs. Mary S. House.

Mary McLaughlin was born Nov. 25, 1829. She was converted at the age of twelve and at sixteen united with the Methodist Episcopal church, and for forty-five years has been a devoted, consistent member of the same. Sister House was taken ill on Sunday evening and on Wednesday morning breathed her last in peace. She was an earnest christian, attentive to the preaching service, the prayer and class meetings, always ready to bear her testimony to God's sustaining grace. During her brief sickness, she said that the fear of death had been removed. She spoke of her contemplated visit to her children in Washington, and said it was the Lord's will she should not go. She leaves four children, three living in Washington and one, Dr. Branson, living here. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church, West Branch, Iowa, on Friday March 20th, conducted by the pastor Rev. W. S. Craft, assisted by Revs. Hoover and Hemmingway. The sermon was preached from the text, Romans XIX,8. "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord, and whether we die, we die unto the Lord, whether we live, therefore, or die, we are the Lord's." W.S.C.
