7 June 1934 - West Branch Times

Olive Belle Underwood, daughter of John and Rose Underwood, was born at Licking, Ohio, December 4, 1876, and passed away at the home of her son Herbert, May 31, 1934, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 27 days.

At the age of twelve she was left without a father and mother. She then came to live with an uncle and aunt at Afton, Iowa, where she made her home until her marriage.

She was united in marriage to Charles Fisher of Eureka, Ill., on January 19, 1899. To this union were born five sons all of whom survive her.

She was a member of the Methodist until her marriage at which time she with her husband united with the Presbyterian church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

For twelve years following their marriage they lived in Illinois. In 1911 they came to Iowa, settling at Garden Grove where they made their home for twelve years. In 1923 they moved to Des Monies where they have since made their home.

Having experienced what it means to be an orphan Mrs. Fisher became greatly interested in such boys and girls, taking two boys into her home and caring for them several years.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Charles R. Fisher of Des Moines, five sons, Eugene and Herbert of West Branch; Darrell of Pittsburg, Penn., Russell and Raymond of Iowa City; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lohman of Tacoma, Wash.; one half sister, Mrs. Carrie Foraker of Crooksville, Ohio, as well as a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at West Branch at ten o'clock, Saturday morning, conducted by the pastor, H. M. Grant. Burial was made at West Branch.
