3 May 1934 - West Branch Times

Anna Maria Wilson was born in Jefferson County, Ohio, June 24, 1858, and died at the home of her daughter, Mary Holland in West Branch, Iowa, April 27, 1934, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 3 days.

She came from Ohio in the spring of 1863 with her parents and two brothers to a home near Springdale, where she grew to womanhood.

On November 12, 1884, she was married to William H. Walker, who had a dental practice in West Branch. This union was broken by the death of William Walker, June 5, 1928. West Branch has been her home all these years with the exception of three years during her second marriage to Ted Moore. She was again widowed in December, 1931.

Due to failing health, the last year was lived in the homes of her daughters, Lydia Stewart and Mary Holland. She was a birthright member of the Society of Friends.

The surviving children are: Lydia Elma Stewart and Mary Eliza Holland, both of West Branch; Abel Townsend Walker of Mason City, Iowa. A daughter, Rachel T., died in infancy. There also remain four brothers and a sister: I. J. Wilson of West Branch, Townsend T. Wilson of Boston, Mass., Charles Wilson of Greeley, Colo., Sarah T. Murray of Tomahawk, Wis., and Frank Dingham Wilson of Pasadena, Calif. Two sisters and one brother have preceded her in death.

There are, besides these, thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many friends and neighbors who share in the bereavement of her passing.

Funeral services were conducted according to the custom of Friends in the Conservative meeting house on Second street, at two o'clock Monday afternoon, with burial in the West Branch cemetery.
