In Response To: Butler 1850 to 1880 (gay clodgo)

In summary, Burials could not be located. Hopefully you have all this information already. From your query it was not certain. This family were farmers but they moved around more than most. It appears that documentation is available for moves from Edgar, IL in 1850 to Fannin Tx in 1860 to Linn, Kansas in 1870 to Colorado in 1880 and back to Kansas, Chataqua by 1896. It is likely as the parents were aging they stayed with children.

Additional Information for Richard Armstrong Rev.
Notes (1)
 Rev. Richard Armstrong was an Elder in teh Presbyterian Church, in the Big Creek Church, but under the influence of the revival of the 1800 he was led to see that his relgion was in form only. He professed religion and joined the revival party, which became the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Richard Armstrong was the son of John Armstrong, who served in the Morgan District of NC., during the American Revolutionary War. John Armstrong moved to Greene County, Tn about 1784 and died in the year 1798, in Greene County, Tennessee. Rev. Richard Armstrong left Kentucky with a Mr. Black about 1810 for Indiana, then Clark County, Illinois in 1816. Hiram A. unter often preached as a Cumberland Presbyterian missionary evangelist in the home of Richard Armstrong. Richard received a letter which showed his father should inherit a large Estate in Ireland, but his father deserted the British Army during the Revolution and joined the American Army, a fact which invalidated his claim. Usher F. Linden of Coles County, Illinois was employed. It developed that nothing could be collected because the older Armstrong's act of desertion. With this story as an illustration, he often preached the doctrine that inheritance as a child of God demands obedience, loyal allegiance.
