Butler 1850 to 1880

ARMSTRONG, ELAM, VAN NOSTIN, LESTER OR LISTER

I am researching the Armstrong family. James Alexander married Susan Elam and they resided in Butler County for a time. It seems she moved south to be with her family after he died? I am not sure why they came to Iowa...perhaps just for new land? His family was in Illinois after his parents moved from Tennessee. I am wondering if the Lester's buried in Lowtown Cemetery near the Armstrong gravesite are his relatives as well, because his mother's maiden name was Lester. I have not been able to find her grave, nor that of her husband, Richard Armstrong, who died abt 1843.
Any information on the family of James Alexander Armstrong and Susan Elam would be apprecitated
