MRS. J, L. SAWYERS DIES AGE 76  YRS, IN BALTIMORE, MD.
Heart  Trouble  Resulted in  Death While  Son Lazelle Was on Way to Bedside

The  death  of Mrs. J. L. Sawyers occurred  this  morning  about 8:30 in the Johns Hopkins hospital, Baltimore, Md., while her son Lazelle was  hastening  from Centerville in response to a  communication Sunday morning announcing  her  serious  illness. The message stated  that  sbe was in  a  sinking condition the result  of a heart attack, following  serious heart  trouble  of some  months  duration. He left  Sunday  noon and will not arrive  in Baltimore  until this evening.

It is believed that the body  will be  brought  to  Centerville, arriving  probably  by  Wednesday,  and that  the- funeral  may be  Thursday. However, this remains for later-arrangement and announcement.
Mrs. Sawyers was the  daughter of Gen. and Mrs. F. M. Drake, and is survived  only by John  Drake in Paris and Mrs. Geo. W. Sturdivant of Pasadena, .Calif., of the original family: An older  sister, Mrs. T. P. Shonts, another  sister, Mrs. Henry Goss, and a brother, Frank  Drake, are  deceased.

She was married  to Dr. J. L.  Sawyers in  1883 who  became a prominent physician  and  surgeon and Centerville businessman.  He died in 1914. They have three  children now living, Mrs. Wm. G. Baker, Jr., of Baltimore, Hygiene of Greenwich,  Conn., and F. L.  Sawyers of  Centerville. Soon after the death of her husband  she went  east  to make her home; and has resided in the Baltimore vicinity for some  time.

Burial Service for Mrs. Sawyers Thursday At 11 Funeral  services for Mrs. J. L. Sawyers, whose death  occurred in Baltimore, Md., Monday, are being held this afternoon at the home of her  daughter, Mrs. Wm. G. Baker Jr.,  in  Baltimore.  The  remains will arrive in Centervllle  Wednesday evening, coming by way of Albia on the afternoon  train. Burial  services  will be held at Oakland  cemetery  in this  city at promised an eleven  o'clock  Thursday morning  where Rev. H. E. Trimble,  pastor of the Central  Church  of  Christ, will conduct a brief  service at the grave.
