OBITUARY
Henry John STEINKAMP was born Nov. 20, 1856 at Baltimore, Maryland, and died at his home in Tingley, Iowa at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

When 12 years of age he moved with his parents to Pella, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. On Aug. 10, 1875 he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ann STULL at Knoxville, Iowa.

To this union were born four children, John STEINKAMP of Sundance, Wyoming; Mrs. Ellsworth BRECKENRIDGE and Mrs. Herschel MORRISON of Tingley and Mrs. Cora BRECKENRIDGE who preceded her father in death in 1911. He also leaves 9 grand children and 6 great grand children besides 3 brothers and 4 sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.

One sister, Mrs. JOYNES, of Des Moines and one brother, John STEINKAMP, of Pella attended the funeral.

IN 1882 they moved from Knoxville, Iowa to Marysville, Missouri and lived there for 20 years, then moving to Tingley and later to Harrisonville where they lived for 14 years. In February, 1927, they returned to Tingley to spend their remaining years near their daughters and old friends.

At the age of 35 years under the leadership of Bro. N. McCASH, he was coverted and became a member of the Christian church.

When 46 years of age he was seriously injured in an accident from which he never fully recovered although he never complained of his suffering.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at 2:30 o'clock p.m. on Friday, April 5, conducted by the paster, Rev. Clarence EPPARD and interment made in the Tingley cemetery Saturday forenoon. The delay in burial was caused by the non-arrival of John STEINKAMP, who came from Wyoming. The Pastime Club ladies, of which Mrs. E.M. BRECKENRIDGE is a member, attended the services in a body. There was a good sized congregation present, showing their respect for a departed neighbor.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: John STEINKAMP of Sundance, Wyoming; Mrs. Angie BRIGGS and Mrs. Louella JONES of Marysville, Missouri; Mrs. Kate JOYNES and son Don and son George and his son Robert of Des Moines, and John STEINKAMP of Pella, Iowa.
