JESSE F. PIERCE, 73, formerly of Gilman, died Saturday at Americana Nursing Home, Waterloo, following a long illness. He was a retired machinist. Survivors include his wife, Ione; two sons, David of Manhattan, Kan., and Douglas of Montour; four daughters, Phyllis Phipps, Janelle Graff, Sheryl McCammant and Carla Pierce, all of Grinnell.

Transcriber Note: Jesse F. Pierce's first wife was Shirley Arlene Lineweaver (1921-1960). They both are buried in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
