Bare, William H. - 1880-1943

BARE, FOSHER, SCHROEDER, WORTHINGTON

William H. Bare, son of R. A. and Nora Bare, was born in Warren county April 24, 1880, and departed this life, in an untimely death, December 22, 1943, aged 63 years, 7 months and 28 days.
He was married to Mayme Worthington, September 16, 1908. To this union one daughter, Macie, was born.
At an early age he united with the Methodist church in Sandyville. In 1908 he brought his letter to the Pleasantville Methodist church. He has always loved the church and has been an ardent follower of the Master. Billy loved to sing and made a great contribution to the church by use of his talent. He was always willing to help with music wherever and whenever an occasion arose.
Mr. Bare started carrying the mail in 1901, and 33 years late he retired. All of these years he carried mail from the Pleasantville post office. After his retirement he and the family continued living on their farm, and he was occupied I various types of work. One and one-half years ago he purchased the Phillips station where he has since served the public. The bus depot of Pleasantville was located in this station. Through these contacts Billy won the friendship and love of people from all walks of life and from all parts of the country. Everyone referred to him as one who was always friendly and always the same to all people.
Those who mourn their loss are his wife; his daughter, Macie Schroeder; one grandson Jo Bill; his mother, Mrs. Nora Bare; two uncles, Dr. Bare and O. H. Bare of Pleasantville, and one half-uncle, Will Fosher of Estherville. Besides these there are cousins and a legion of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were conducted at the Pleasantville Methodist church, Sunday afternoon. Officiating ministers were the Rev. Azel L. Smith and Edd Cooley. Burial in Pleasantville cemetery.
