OBITUARY
Mrs. Martin G. Olson

Bertine Eliza, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Charlson, was born July 17th, 1884, at the farm home northeast of Randall, and died at Mercy hospital in Des Moines, Tuesday morning June 9, 1914, aged 29 years, 10 months and 22 days. She lived all her life in this community, growing to womanhood among friends who loved and esteemed her very highly and by whom she will be greatly missed.

She married M. G. Olson on the 19th of April, 1905, and to this union five children were born. The youngest daughter died in infancy about four months ago. Mrs. Olson had been failing for some time and her condition became critical about a week before her death. Sunday evening she was taken to Mercy hospital and was operated on for appendicitis the next day, dying at three o'clock Tuesday morning. The body was brought home to Randall and funeral services were held Thursday from the Randall church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Paulsrud. The church was beautifully decorated and floral offerings were many and beautiful. A large crowd attended the services, paying the last tribute of love and respect to one whom they had all held dear in life. Interment was made in the Story City cemetery.

Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband and four children, her mother, two sisters and four brothers. Hosts of friends in the vicinity join in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones in their time of sorrow.
