STATE NEWS
The famous Wilton-tar-and-feather case, of which Miss Ellen Corey was the victim, is on trial at Davenport, the defendants being, Mrs. John Wiley, Mrs. Elizabeth Moore, Mrs. Edmund Anderson, Mrs. Elizabeth Addis, Mrs. Charlotte Dixon, Mrs. Ellen Kean, Mrs. Edward Carleton, Mrs. Elizabeth Bentley, Mrs. H. W. Scott, and Miss Kate Wiley, all prominent Christian women of Wilton. The suit is $50,000 damages. The case will probably last a week.
