Julius Francis Schwers was born Oct. 21, 1921 to Joseph and Anna Plossel Schwers. He died Feb. 28, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Saint Boniface Cemetery, New Vienna IA.

Petty Officer Schwers served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Houston (CA-30) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when the Houston was sunk on the Battle of Sunda Strait. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Michael Daniel Seery was born Nov. 24, 1910 to Henry Patrick and Elizabeth Catherine McDermott Seery. He died July 14, 1949 and is buried in Cascade Cemetery, Cascade, IA. 

Michael served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Donald Raymond Sheldon was born Sept. 9, 1897 to William Lee and Dora Mae Baisden Sheldon. He died Jan. 14, 1947 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA. Coxswain Sheldon served with the U.S. Navy in World War I and World War II.

Son, William R. “Bill” Sheldon was born Sept. 19, 1925 to Donald Raymond and Joann Glantz Sheldon. He died Jan. 30, 2007 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA. Bill served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Edward Michael Simon was born Feb. 14, 1920 to Leo A. and Elizabeth Wolf Simon. He died Nov. 1, 1990 and is buried in Saint Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Rochelle, IL.

Edward served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 79th Group, 22nd Squadron and 506th Fighter Group, 457th Fighter Squadron.

John Joseph Sullivan was born Apr. 12, 1924 to Joseph and Margaret McKenna Sullivan. He died Nov. 1, 1945 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, IA.

Sgt. Sullivan served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
