Searching for information mostly on the JAMASON name but have expanded search to include WELCH and LAUFERSWEILER.
Hugh Jamason born 1810 in Ireland married Catherine BUTLER and emmigrated to the US in 1847 with their 4 children: Mary, Anna, Samuel and Teresa b 05/10/1845 d 02/09/1921. Terese was two years old when they arrived in Albany, NY.
They settled in Illinois but shortly after the Civil War Teresa married John Welch and ended up in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Hugh ended up joining his youngest daughter in Fort Dodge and is buried in the Corpus Christi cemetery next to the Welch family plots. My grandfather, Carl Gustaf PEHRSON, immigrated to the US from Sweden and worked on a farm in Webster County, near Fort Dodge, in mid--late 1891 as an indetured servant, family tradition says he worked for a well to do farmer (French?) and his Swedish wife; and was there for 3 years and moved on to Calhoun County also as a farm hand.
In either of those places, he changed his surname to PALMQUIST, I'd like more information at this point to help pinpoint his whereabouts. If you have any suggestions, I welcome any and all help.
