Funeral services for Joseph J. Novak, 58, former Fort Dodge resident who died
in a Chicago, Ill. hospital last Sunday after a short illness, were held
Friday morning at 8:30 at the Laufersweiler Funeral Home and at 9:00 at
Corpus Christi Church. Monsignor T. J. Davern, pastor, officiated at the
requiem high mass. Burial was in Corpus Christi Cemetery.
Richard Faiferlick, Raymond Sheker, Arthur Sheker, Ed Sheker, Edmund
Samuelson and Donald Young served as pallbearers. In charge of the many
floral tributes was Mrs. Theodore Maier.
Among those who attended the rites from out of town were Mrs. E. R. Young and
sons, Donald and Norman of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Thomas Thompson and daughter,
Rosemary, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sheker, Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Sheker and Ed Sheker, all of Otho; as well as a large number of relatives and
friends from Otho and Elkhorn Township.
