Steve MITCHELL, Mount Ayr pharmacist, has been named president of the Mount Ayr Community Improvement Club for the coming year.

Two retiring members of the Ringgold County Rural Letter Carriers Association and Auxiliary were honored for their many years of service at a retirement party and meeting of the Association held at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Red Carpet Inn in Mount Ayr. Kenneth MORROW for 17 years had been a rural letter carrier out of Diagonal, Tingley, Ellston and Beaconsfield and Francis VIRDEN had 33 years as a rural letter carrier out of Kellerton.

In observance of the 50th wedding annivrsary of Mr. and Mrs. Howard SPENCER, their children and grandchildren will hold an open house at the Boniface Catholic Hall in Waukee Sunday, Jan. 6.
