Frank REYNARD, of Mount Ayr, has purchased the W. A. livery and garage and took possession Monday, John ASBURY has charge of the livery and Roy HART will have charge of the garage.

Lee TIMBY began work yesterday in H. H. WILSON'S grocery store, taking the place made vacant by the resignation of Howard GLEASON, who began work at the Hawkeye Lumber Company's yard in Mount Ayr.

Earl T. HOOVER has bought stock in the State Savings Bank at Decatur City and will become assistant cashier of the bank on December 1.

Lester STORMS went this morning to Kent, where he will have charge of the Hawkeye Lumber Company's yard.

The many friends of Dr. Harry M. GRIFFITH, son of Mrs. G. A. WYANT, of Mount Ayr, will be pleased to learn that his faithful and efficeint service in his profession has secured for a charter membership in the organization of the American College of Surgeons.

Mr. and Mrs. Clare PORTER and Harriett Evelyn came Saturday from Bedford and will make their home here, where he will be assiciated with his father in the meat business.

DIAGONAL - F. A. PARSONS, who has been engaged in the jewelry business in our town for the past three years, sold this week to Mr. FINK, who has been working for him for several months. Mr. PARSONS expects to go to a school of optometry and prepare for that line of work.

KNOWLTON - Valdey CONLEY and family expect to move soon to Lorimor, where Mr. CONLEY will have charge of the section at Peru.

KELLERTON - The parent-teachers meeting was held Friday and the following new officers were elected: President, Mrs. Charles GORUSCH; vice-president, Esther DAVIS; and, secretary, Mrs. L. R. TREICHLER.

HIGH SCHOOL NOTES: Two new pupils have enrolled in high school - Mabel SCHISLER and Alta JOHNSON, of Kellerton, making the total number now 174.
