A manager for a new grocery store in Mount Ayr has committed to the job and organizers of the plan to have a grocery store in the former Place's building north of the square have sent a July 1 goal for having enough stock in the enterprise sold so that opening is a sure thing. To help in the stock sales effort, Gary BEAR has agreed to help coordinate sales with other registered sales agents to contact as many Ringgold county residents as possible to offer them an opportunity to purchase stock in the new business. These are the two latest developments in the project announced this week by board members, Joe MURPHY and Randy McDONNELL.

There was between $10,000 and $15,000 estimated damage done at the Sun Valley clubhouse between 2-6 a.m. Sunday, May 19, as about 54 of the building's windows were broken with a claw hammper. A few screens also were damaged. There had been a social function at the clubhouse Saturday night, after which the clubhouse was closed. Ringgold County Sheriff's officers, who are investigating, felt they were underestimating when they put the figure at $10,000.
