Bishop Maurice DINGMAN, Des Moines, will be a visitor to Saint Joseph and Immaculate Conception Churches on Monday, April 27.

Two Mount Ayr Community High School juniors will attend the 36th annual session of the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State to be held June 6 through June 13 in Cedar Falls. Billie Jo GROUT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald GROUT of Tingley, has been selected by the Tingley Dewey Unit No. 516 as their representative to the session. Lori SICKELS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob SICKELS of Mount Ayr, has been selected by the Mount Ayr Legion Auxiliary Post No. 172.

BIRTHS REPORTED FROM RINGGOLD COUNTY HOSPITAL:

  • April 17, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Leo LANE, Jr., Benton
  • April 18, a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Marion THURMAN, Redding
  • April 19, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Dan SHEIL, Mount Ayr
