Mount Ayr residents are breathing easier these days following August and September rains. The abnormal percipitation during the past eight weeks has raised the level of Loch Ayr the city's reservoir, above danger levels. Duane GLICK, city clerk, who started measuring the lake level during the drought, said Tuesday morning that rains had raised the level of water almost 31 inches above the low mark. GLICK reports that the lake level is still five feet below the level of the spillway.

Six girls will represent Ringgold county inthe 4-H girls' division at the St.Joseph, MO Interstate Show Sept. 22.

Workmen have been busy the last week razing the remains of the Lawhead Dental Clinic and McNEILEY Drug buildings, gutted in the June fire. Sidewalk engineers have found the operations highly entertaining.

Martha SAVILLE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George SAVILLE of Redding, became the bride of Mike SWANSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles SWANSON of Mount Ayr, on August 6 at the Redding United Methodist Church. After a wedding trip to Reno, NV and San Francisco, CA, the couple returned to make their home in Webb, IA.

Mr. and Mrs. William JONES of Tingley will observe their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception at the Ellston United Methodist church on Oct. 2.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl RAINEY of Kellerton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception at the Kellerton Legion Hall on Sept. 25.

Joan FISHER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert FISHER, will be installed as worthy advisor of Mount Ayr Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls on Sept. 25. Other elected officers to be installed are Brenda DAVISON, Jodie GILES, Karla HUTCHINSON and Debbie DULANY.
