At the meeting of he Corning District Dental Society held last week in Shenandoah, Dr. D. R. DUDLEY, of this city, was elected secretary of the society for the coming year.

S. L. FRAZIER, proprietor of the Mount Ayr Garage, recenlty added to his equipment a motor and is running his machinery with power from the light plant. He has also added a storage battery charging outfit and now hs one of the best equipped garages in this part of the state.

Jessie SPICER and Etta WALLACE came Saturday evening from Ridgeway, MO to accept positions offered here in the Mount Ayr House.

Charles POWERS returned Saturday from Galesburg IL where he has been attending to business matters. While away he secured a contract from the French government for war horses and will begin to fill the contract as soon as possible.

Lester STORM, who for the past two years has been employed in the Hawkeye Lumber Company's yard, has been selected as manager of the company's yard at Kent, and will assume the duties of his new position next Monday. Howard GLEASON will take the position of assistant in the local yard and Bea JOHNSTON will be employed as bookkeeper.

Myers & Todd, who last week purchased the Star Theatre from Dowling & Shepherd, are now running that show every evening.

Harry BISBEY is the new helper at the depot and Agent WOOD says that the indications are that the will be a good one. He went this morning to St. Joseph to take the examinations required of all applicants as depot helper.

Beginning November 27, the Mount Ayr Merchants' Matinee Club will put on a free farmers' matinee at the Star Theatre each Saturday for three months. The matinee is for people who live outside of Mount Ayr only. You need no ticket; go in and stay as long as you wish. Mr. Todd, of the Star Theatre, will give $5.00 in cash each Saturday to the person who lives outside of Mount Ayr in Ringgold county who presents to him a receipted bill for the largest orders of merchandise purchases from the cooperating merchants, and $3.00 in cash to the person who presents a receipted bill for merchandist purchases from club members.

KELLERTON - Dr. QUIGLEY has rented rooms of James WOOLLUMS for his office and comes over from Davis City every afternoon.

MALOY - Dr. T. W. KING Left last week for Greenfield, where he will practice medicine. Dr. E. P. NYE moved here last week. He has been practicing medicine in Blockton, but on the removal of Dr. KING from this place decided to locate here.

KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. Floyd RICHARDSON are the proud parents of a fine little son, born to them on October 17.
