Results of the municipal elections held in Ringgold county's 10 incorporated cities last Tuesday are as follows:

Beaconsfield: mayor, Paul H. WION; council -- Robert W. BALDOCK, Paige HAGEN, Clair KIRKPATRICK, Vernon LANTZ, Vern Van VALKENBURG.

Benton: mayor, Helen BLUNCK; council -- Karyn GRAHAM, Dorothy HALEY, Viola NICKLES, Eleanor CAVENDER, Kathleen BUTLER.

Delphos: mayor, Arthur STEIMAN; council -- Joe SEATON, Larry BOWEN, Ralph BRAMMER, Charles PRITCHARD, Lester TROWER.

Diagonal: mayor, Ronald C. SCHLAPIA; council -- Jay WATSON, Arnold KESSLER, Robert STRANGE, Freeman RIEF, Richard RICHARDSON.

Tingley: mayor, Allyn JARRED; council -- John CLARK, Mike BRECKENRIDGE, Greg FERGUSON, Jerry YEOMAN, Alfred STANBERRY.

Between 600 and 700 citizens attended the public meeting on the Mount Ayr school building situation last Thursday night in the gym. Small groups of those attending came up with options for what to do with the deteriorating building including the razing of the 1912 building, using the 1936 portion of the building for a junior high and constructing new facilities to house the elementary and high school classes. In the meantime the 4-H girls building at the fairgrounds has been converted to facilities for the elementary students.

Chief Master Sergeant Ivan C. BEEDE, son of Mrs. Jessie CORLL of Kellerton, received a meritorious service medal for outstanding duty performance. He is serving with NATO headquarters in Izmir, Turkey.
