RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, November 17 & 20, 1914

Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

A deal was consummated last evening whereby Al LESAN and William NEWTON became owners of the "Palace of Sweets," on the north side of the square. The Messers. HALDEMAN and FULLER, who have conducted the business for some time, have not announced their intentions. A.F. "Fatty" COLLINS, of whom there is no better baker in the state of Iowa, will remain with the new firm.

Newly elected officers of Ringgold County Medical Society are Dr. J.H. GOAD, of Ellston, president; Dr. L.F. TALLEY, of Diagonal, vice-president; Dr. Samuel BAILEY, of Mount Ayr, secretary-treasurer; Dr. William HORNE, of Mount Ayr, censor for three years; and Dr. C.T. LESAN, of Mount Ayr, delegate to the state society.

The U.S. Pension Board for Ringgold County was recently reorganized by the election of the following officer: president, Dr. M.F. HANNELY; secretary, Dr. C.T. LESAN; and treasurer, Dr. W.F. SCHMALTZ.

Willard STRANAHAN returned Wednesday from Dodson, MT, where he had been employed for the last five years in the mines, and will assist his father, C.G. STRANAHAN, in the grocery store.

Dr. F.C. CLARK, who for the past nine years has practiced dentistry in Mount Ayr, left last evening for Charles City, where he has purchased a practice. Doctor CLARK recently sold his business and residence property to Dr. C.C. LAWHEAD, who has been associated with him for several months.
