Homer WINEINGER has sold his interest in the store on King Street to Mrs. Sarah DeBOLT, of Maloy. She has already taken charge of the store and is welcomed to the business circles in Blockton.
Howard SNEDEKER, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. SNEDEKER, and a junior student at the State University at Iowa City, has been selected as a member of the University Glee Club. The club is composed of 25 members and as there were 200 applicants for membeship, the appointment is one of which Howard may well feel proud.
V. B. WEARS has sold his interest in the Wears and Lesan produce firm to Lesan & Co.
For some weeks the men of the commercial club have been engaged in arranging plans for a $10,000 auditorium which will be erected in our town as spring opens. It will be the largest building of the kind in any town in the county. The growth of the Farmer's Institute has been the main factor in starting the movement.
J. D. HATCH has bought the STEDMAN barbershop located in the basement of the BEALL Building east of the Iowa State Bank and has again engaged in the barber business in Mount Ayr.
MALOY - Mrs. P. H. SULLIVAN went Monday to Garden Grove where she will each school the coming year. Mr. SULLIVAN expects to go to Colorado for his health. Dr. T. W. KING left
Tuesday for Greenfield, where he has located.
DIAGONAL - Diagonal is to have a new bank, which will be known as the Diagonal State Bank, and which will be opened about January 1, with a capital of $30,000. They will probably erect a new bank building in the near future, but for the present they will occupy the office of Asa BAILEY.
KELLERTON - F. W. TWAY has sold his store to Fred ARMSTRONG, proprietor of the bargain store, and gave possession Wednesday. Mr. ARMSTRONG will conduct the store for awhile and later consolidate the two stores.
BIRTHS
Mr. and Mrs. Merritt W. HAYES as the parents of a son, born November 19, Weight, ten and one-half pounds.
Mr. and Mrs. Anton SLAVIK are the parents of a baby boy, born November 10.
