In what was the first methampehtamine lab raid in Ringgold county, seven people were arrested at 100 Decatur Street in Kellerton early Monday morning. Officers from the Ringgold County Sheriff's Department, Iowa Hoghway Patrol and Iowa Drug Enforcement Agency were involved in the operation. Citizen information led to a search warrant for the house in Kellerton and five vehicles. Found in the search were items used to manufacture methamphetamine, miscellaneous fire arms in possession of a felon and radios used to monitor law enforcement. Arrested Monday were Damon T. EAKES of Davis City, Brian SMITH of Kellerton, Thomas B. PERDUE of Leon, Heather M. BOSWELL of Lamoni, Darren D. DALE of Leon, Beth M. WELCH of Des Moines and Emmett DAVIS of Kellerton.

Kim GREENLAND, president of Citizens Bank in Mount Ayr [alumnus of Grand Valley Community School, Kellerton], is featured onthe cover of the March issue of Iowa Banking magazine. GREENLAND is also chairman of the Iowa Banker's Association agriculture committee this year.

Lynn RINEHART, owner and operator of Lynn's Texaco Food Mart in Mount Ayr, has been elected to the board of directors of the Petroleum Marketers of Iowa (PMI).

Clair HEYER of Tingley took first place in the 2001 Gene SEVIER cribbage tournament held March 10 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
