RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, January 15, 1987

Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr

Dale BICKEL was reelected president; Dick WEEHLER vice president, and Dick JACKSON, secretary-treasurer, at a reorganization portion of a regular meeting of the Ringgold County Hospital board of trustees Monday, January 12.

First baby of the new year was born at Ringgold County Hospital on Thursday, Jan. 8, one week into 1987. Joseph Donald LILIENTHAL was born at 11:12 p.m. and weighed six pounds, six and one-half ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. His mother is Lori LILIENTHAL and he is welcomed by a sister, Stephanie Reann, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard LILIENTHAL of Mount Ayr.

Saturday night was homecoming for Diagonal Community schools students and alumni. Reigning over the festivities were queen Patty TAYLOR, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack TAYLOR, and king Doug NEWTON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claire NEWTON.

In the 40 years that Doris HANNON was employed by a local bank, she feels that banking probably has changed more than any other business. Mrs. HANNON first was employed at Security State Bank and later when it became Hawkeye Bank & Trust. When she retired December 30, 1986, she was assistant vice president working at the Tingley Bank site where she had been for the past two and one-half years after it became part of Hawkeye Bank & Trust. HANNON has always been a Ringgold countian. She lived on a farm north of Mount Ayr with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry TRIMBLE; her sister, now Mrs. Junior STEPHENSON of rural Mount Ayr, and her brother, LeRoy TRIMBLE of rural Kellerton.
