Farmer & Poor, who recently purchased J. A. McNerney's restaurant and are moving their stock of meats and groceries to the room occupied by the restaurant, closed a deal yesterday with C. V. Porter for his meat market on Depot Street and have moved the stock of meats to their new building. W. H. Main has rented the Vorpe building, which has been occupied by the meat market, and will move his restaurant across the street in the near future.

The "Juniors Players," who presented "Her Gloves" in the high school auditorium a week ago, went Saturday night to Delphos and gave the same performance. The "company" left Saturday morning on the freight and returned Sunday, most of them spending the night with friends in Delphos. Mona Shroyer and Edna Wright acted as chaperons. They reported a good house and successful production of the play with Raymond Hickerson starring.

J. A. McNerney has received his commission as postmaster at Mount Ayr and on Sunday, James Beard, who has served in the office for twelve years, turned over the office to him. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hollopeter, who have been employed in the office under the administration of Mr. Beard, will be retained by the new postmaster.

A very pretty wedding occurred January 26, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Jones, of near Benton, when their daughter, Mae Evans, was united in marriage to Guy Dillenburg, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Dillenburg, of near Benton. The words which made these young people one were spoken by Rev. Sam Zike, an uncle of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Dillenburg will be at home after March 1 on a farm three miles south of Diagonal.

KELLERTON - O. B. Klattenburg and L. L. Payton have purchased the garage of F. W. Seasholtz, now occupied by the Peasley and Hall garage. They also have the agency for both the Overland and Ford cars.

Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Norris, who have made their home ona farm in Tingley township for the past few years, will go soon to Kirksville, MO where Mr. Norris will enter the American School of Osteopathy.

HIGH POINT - Among other business transacted by the trustees of Liberty township during their annual meeting was to purchase from John Saltzman, agent for the Good Roads Machinery Company, four wheel scrapers and twelve road drags to be used in keeping the roads in first class condition. Ed Wood was employed as road foreman for one-half of the township. The slighing is fine. Not often do we find the roads in better condition.

Several special numbers were given by home talent in addition to the regular program of the Princess Theatre on Friday night. Vocal solos were sung by Reba Roberts and Alice Maxwell, and music was furnished by an orchestra recently organized and composed of Mrs. Clyde Lesan, piano; H. D. Price, trombone; Earl Thompson, cornet; Chester Mallory, clarinet; Elnora Studer and Helen Spurrier, violins, and Raymond Bretz, drum. Paul Folley, of Kellerton, sang two songs in costume and was the hit of the evening's performance.

LIBERTY - Rev. Peter Parker has been transferred from the Tingley charge to Oklahoma and Rev. J. A. Branson was sent from Oklahoma to Tingley.

The style show conducted by M. E. Freeland at the Princess Theatre last Wednesday evening was a success in every way. A line of coats, dresses and furs was shown by Mr. Freeland, who was assisted by Vesper Fierce, Mable Butler, Nellie Chance and Margaret Spurrier.

KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. George Higday are the proud parents of a little daughter, born to them on February 9.

DIAGONAL - A fine baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Chester Ruby on February 7.

DIAGONAL - A bright baby girl was born February 9, to Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Watts on the Steve Jones farm.
