Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, March 12, 1998

by Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr Record-News

Lights flashing and horns honking, city police and a string of cars gave the Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes a noisy send off to Des Moines Tuesday afternoon in a parade through town and around the square. The Raiderettes were on their way to Des Moines to play West Marshall of State Center in the first round of the Class 2A girls state basketball tournament.

The female version of "The Odd Couple" by Neil Simon will be presented at the Ringgold county courthouse assembly room stage by the Moonlighter Theatre Group, the local community drama organization. The cast includes Pam POORE, Martha LANDPHAIR, Brenda WILKEY, Paula RICHARDS, Karla HYNES, Kathi BLUNCK, CHuck WEIMAN and Bill HYNEK. Judy CUNNING is directing the production.

Obituary in this issue:

Lela Maude ALLENSWORTH COLLIER

Transcription by Sharon R. Becker, October of 2015
