RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, June 9 and 12, 1914

Maggie Jennett, News Intern, Mount Ayr Record-News

Ed O'MALEY, John DUFFIELD and Bert SMITH went Sunday to Grant City, MO., where Bert pitched for the Grant City team against Stanberry, MO.

The appearance of the public park has been improved by having the name "Mount Ayr" embedded on the north bank. The letters were designed by Mr. BURWELL, who has joined his regiment on the Mexican boarder (sic) and the moulds were made by C. R. KEATING. The letters were made of white rock embedded in white cement and are about four feet high.

Charlie TRIMBLE returned Wednesday from Mitchellville, where he has been working on the new tower, which was built there. In a few days he will go to Wisconsin, where another tower will be erected.

Benton - The School board met Monday evening and chose Mary and Jessie WEAVER as teachers for the coming term of school.
