Neighbors, relatives and friends went April 30 to the Guy BLUNCK farm in the Benton vicinity and built fence for Mr. BLUNCK, who was injured recently in a fall. Those who assisted in performing the "good neighbor" deed were Marion HERRINGTON, Roy, Bill and Ernest BLUNCK, Marshal MATTHEWS and Gail, Hugh WALTERS, Bud CAMPBELL, P. J. ANDREWS, Don BURCH, Vilas BANNER, Burl MOBLEY, Bill SMITH and Jack ELLIOTT.

Sixteen persons from Ringgold county attended a G.O.P. fund-raising dinner Saturday night inthe KRNT Theatre in Des Moines and heard an address by Richard M. NIXON, former vice president of the United States. Ticket sales tothe $25-a-plate fried chicken dinner produced more than $100,000 before the deduction of expenses. Republicans in attendance were Jack ELLIOTT, chairman of the Ringgold County Republican Central Committee, and Mrs. ELLIOTT of Benton, Representative Lester SICKELS of Kellerton, E. M. WATSON of Diagonal and Senator and Mrs. X. T. PRENTIS, Judge Charles J. LEWIS, Grant L. HAYES, John F. DENHART, O. G. DIXON, Harold WEBB, Dr. and Mrs. D. E. MITCHELL, Chas. J. LESAN and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin SPURRIER of Mount Ayr.

The roof of the Ringgold county courthouse is being repaired this week and new roofing material is being applied. Skylights and ventilators are also being repainted. The work, guaranteed for 20 years, was ordered by the board of supervisors at a cost of $1,875. The contractor is W. O. TERRY of Melbourne, MO.

Lowell GREENE of Mount Ayr topped more than 1,400 agents to place second in total sales for the Columbus Mutual Life Insurance company in April. J. F. KRISINGER, also of Mount Ayr, ranked in the company's "Top Ten" in total life insurance sales.

The Mount Ayr Community high school relay team broke two all-time Mount Ayr track records as they participated in the Graceland Relays Saturday in Lamoni. The medley relay team ran 3:53.5 to eclipse the old school record of 4:01.2. Dick HERRINGTON led off running the 440, Eugene RICKER and Rick DEFENBAUGH each ran 220 and Dick WEEHLER anchored with a fine 2:07 half mile. The 440-yard relay team ran 47 flat to beat the old school record of 47.1. Dick HERRINGTON ran a fine anchor lap. Other team members, all of whom are freshmen, are Eugene RICKER, Milton STONE and Ricky DEFENBAUGH.
