Homecoming queen candidates for this year include Karen REASONER, Connie MAIN, Marie EURITT, Connie PERLENFEIN and Maurine ROGERS.

John H. DENART, who has been associated with Standard Oil as a dealer in Mount Ayr for the past 22 years, has won the company's "Second Honeymoon in Nassau" tire contest, announcement of which has been made by W.B. STONE, local sales reporesentative for Standard Oil, Division American Oil Company.

A gold rating, the nation's highest award, was accorded the Mount Ayr Chapter of Future Farmers of America during last night's session of the national F.F.A. convention heing held in the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO. For its program of work the chapter was chosen as one from among 10,000 eligible for competition and one of three which represented the State of Iowa, to receive the gold rating, a gold emblem and a certificate. Included in the group which went Tuesday evening and will return tomorrow (Friday) are Ronnie WOOD, president; Raymond SHIELDS, vice-president; Doyle RICHARDS, secretary; Joe BROWN, treasurer; David UMBRAGER, reporter; Jack GROSS, sentinel, and Mr. and Mrs. HAUPTMANN.

Connie RICHARDS, a member of the Mount Ayr Community high school Tri-Hi-Y, spoke before the North Central Area Board of the Y.M.C.A. Saturday in Des Moines. A member of the National Hi-Y Council, Miss RICHARDS reported to the group on the National Hi-Y Congress held last summer at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN.
