Its homecoming week for Diagonal and Clearfield high school students. Queen candidates are Shelli ENGLAND, Lesa STEPHENS, Noel ALLEN and Angie SPURRIER. King candidates are Paul FERGUSON, Scott TAYLOR, Bobby ALLEE and Todd TAYLOR. Attendants from other classes include juniors Becky HINSHAW and Lonnie STEPHENS, sophomores Jar Jo LARSEN and Scott STEPHENS, and freshmen Klisa HOWER and Clint BROWN.

Gary E. TAYLOR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford TAYLOR of Diagonal, and huband of the former Jeannie BASTOW of Mount Ayr, is the new manager of the Sears store in Saint Joseph, MO.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry LAMB have been welcomed to Mount Ayr by MARC '86 representative, Mrs. J. H. EDDY. They have one child at home. Mrs. LAMB is divisional director for Glemby Intersaction Beauty Salon and department stores. Mr. LAMB is district manager for Casey general stores. They moved from Des Moines.

Jerry NOBLE, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rollin NOBLE of Mount Ayr, has been accepted for membership in the United States Collegiate Wind Band, a highly selective musical organization which will make a concert tour of England and seven Euorpean countries during a three-week trip in July.

Farm foreclosures increased dramatically while other cases filed in Ringgold county district court were down during 1985, according to Rollin B. NOBLE, Ringgold county clerk of court. There were 19 farm foreclosures filed during 1985 compared to three in 1984 and six in 1983, according to court records.

Mary Ann WEAVER has arrived in Mount Ayr to assume duties as a speech and language pathologist in the local Green Valley Area 14 Education Agency. She is working out of the office in Ringgold county courthouse Monday through Friday and is residing in Creston.

The Ringgold County Soil Conservation District met Thursday, Jan. 2, 1986, and re-elected Paul J. SMITH of Blockton as chairman. John SICKELS was elected as vice chairman and Dixie GALVAN was appointed as secretary-treasurer.
