The spirit of Christmas will be celebrated in "Season of Love," the holiday musical being presented three times this weekend by the Moonlighters Theatre Group at the First Christian church in Mount Ayr. A cast of 32 people have been practicing for the production.

The resignation of Jim DeLOZIER, the acting engineer for Ringgold county until engineer in training Brian MOORE receives licensure, was accepted by the Ringgold county board of supervisors at a meeting on December 2. DeLOZIER, Taylor county's full-time engineer, accepted a position with FEMA in North Carolina recently. His resignation left Ringgold county without a required acting engineer.

Neil MORGAN of Kellerton, the county Farm Bureau persident, received the Ringgold county Farm Bureau recognition award at the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting in Des Moines. Ringgold county received four silver star recognitions for its 1999 programs in national affairs, legislative policy development and public relations areas.

A grant of $500 from the South Central Iowa Community Foundation to the Ringgold Singers for their project to purchase new sound equipment was presented in Mount Ayr Monday. With the grant and other donations, the cost of the new equipment has been met.
