RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, July 07 and July 10, 1914

Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

Bud CAMPBELL who has been serving as city marshal and street commissioner for the past two years, resigned his position at a recent ,meeting of the council and Mayor MILLER appointed John R. MARKLE to the position.

Dr. George A. ALEXANDER arrived Tuesday evening and will assist Dr. J. R. GILMOUR in his practice. Doctor ALEXANDER is a teacher of practical pathology in Kirksville School of Osteopathy.

It begins to look like Mount Ayr is to have a ball team. A subscription paper was started Wednesday morning and in short time sufficient funds were subscribed to pay for putting the grounds at Sheldon Heights in shape. Frank WILSON, who recently returned from Iowa City, where he is a student at the State University of Iowa, will take the management of the team if sufficient interest is shown.
