Helen THOMPSON and Earl SCHARDEIN motored to Bolckow, MO on June 15, and were united in marriage by the Rev. Dan R. Gott, pastor of the Baptist Church in that city. Mrs. SCHARDEIN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. THOMPSON, has been employed for the last several months in the Ringgold County Welfare Office. Mr. SCHARDEIN is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark SHARDEIN, of Washington township, and a successful young farmer in the county.

During a recent re-organization meeting of the Ringgold County Republican Central Committee, Charles J. LEWIS was elected chairman; Mrs. Irene WILSON, chairwoman; and Chas. J. LESAN secretary. E. S. LONG was named office and field manager.

The marriage of Zoe ELLIOTT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark ELLIOTT, and Donald O. NICHOLS, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. NICHOLS, took place June 30, in the home of the bride's parents. The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Thomas KELLY, pastor of the Methodist Church of Mount Ayr.

Marietta EDWARDS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. EDWARDS, of Tingley township, has accepted a position in the Davenport schools. Miss EDWARDS and one of the regular Davenport teachers have been chosen to carry out a new type of program for the first grade in the new and largest grade building in Davenport.

A large silver cup was presented to Parry O. BROWN and son, LeRoy, by Helfred Farms, owned by F. W. Hubbell, of Des Moines, on their entry Rosewood Belle 4th. The heifer was champion female at the Marion county show and topped the sale held at Knoxville on June 24th.
