Lyle FARIS, a member of the Junior Farmers Club, was elected president of the Ringgold county boys' 4-H clubs during the annual meeting. Approximately 200 members, parents and guests were in attendance.

Ralph A. LONG of Washington township and Keith LININGER of Jefferson township were elected commissioners of the Ringgold County Soil Conservation District during a meeting held Monday night. Mr. LONG was re-elected for a six-year term and Mr. LININGER was elected for a four-year term to fill the unexpired term of Ira J. CAMPBELL, who moved to Des Moines the first of September. Lloyd GOINS of Lincoln township serves as third member of the commission.

The local Hy-Vee store, presently managed by Walter PRITCHARD, was established approximately 17 years ago.

The Raiders earned their seventh straight victory Friday night at Lenox as they ran past the Tigers 42 to 0. Mount Ayr picked up 13 first downs in accumulating 319 net yards and added 117 more yards on punt returned and kickoffs.

The new Lucky Lanes is one of the most popular spots in Mount Ayr these days, with 50 league teams bowling weekly in this fine four-lane recreation spot. Albert BAGLEY and Ted PERLENFEIN have installed the best equipment possible to give Mount Ayr one of the best-equipped bowling alleys in the area.

Shirley GOINS of Diagonal has received the Iowa 4-H leadership award, announcement of which was made Tuesday by C. J. GAUGER, state 4-H leader. A student at Iowa State University in Ames, Miss GOINS is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd GOINS of Diagonal.

The Credit Bureau of Winona, MN, of which Raymond E. GORSUCH, formerly of Kellerton, is manager, has been adjudged winner of the 1960-61 International Achievement Award.

Howard HENRY, co-owner of the Mount Ayr Livestock Market, was elected vice president of the Ringgold County Sheriff's Posse during an organizational meeting. Elbert STRANGE, Ringgold county sheriff, automatically serves as president of the organization. Other officers elected are Howard PAIST, secretary; Claire FOLTZ, treasurer, and Robert JEANES and Marvin REYNOLDS, captains.

J. W. TRIGGS & Sons sold two top boars last week to George PATRICK of Guthrie Center. One of the boars was junior and grand champion this year at the Guthrie County Fair.
