JOHN C. FOUSER

John C. FOUSER, one of the representative farmers of Union Township, residing on section 28, was born in Summit County, Ohio, the date of his birth being September 28, 1841, a son of Jacob and Sarah FOUSER. The family moved to Will County, Illinois, in 1854, where both parents died. John C. FOUSER, the subject of this sketch, lived in his native county till about thirteen years of age, when he accompanied his parents to Will County, Illinois, and there he grew to manhood, being rered to agricultural pursuits.

Mr. FOUSER came with his family to Ringgold County, Iowa, in March, 1877, and commenced improving, from a state of nature, his fine farm propeprty of 240 acres, which, with the exception of forty acres is located on section 28, Union Township, the remaining forty acres being on section 32. His farm is now under a high state of cultivation, on which he has planted both shade and fruit trees in large numbers, erected a very fine residence, and has made his home very attractive in its surroundings. In politics, Mr. FOUSER casts his suffrage with the Republican party.

NOTE: John C. FOUSER died on June 29, 1912. Mary D. FOUSER, John's wife, was born March 28, 1846, and died August 27, 1919. They were interred at Ellston Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Jacob FOUSER died at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 26 days on December 28, 1881. Sarah FOUSER died at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 15 days on July 23, 187_. Their daughter Mary Ruth FOUSER died at the age of 40 years on October 28, 1883. Jacob, Sarah, and Mary Ruth FOUSER share a gravestone and were interred at Plainfield Township Cemetery, Will County, Illinois.
