St. Irenaeus Pupils Give Fine Program

Graduation exercises of St. Irenaeus school were held at Our Lady of Angels academy last night.

Despite the storm a large audience gathered in the academy auditorium and greatly enjoyed the program.

Rev. James Comerford, pastor of St. Irenaeus, delivered and eloquent address and presented diplomas to eleven of the students who have completed eighth grade work:

  • Louis Baker
  • Walter Cole
  •  Francis Dolan
  • Edward Fahey
  •  John Lollich
  •  Ovid Northrop
  •  Dwight Northrop
  •  Francis Raymond
  •  Isadore Schmidt
  •  LeRoy Shepler

Children of the grades took part in the musical program, and a three act play, "The Recruiting Station," by the older boys, proved vy interesting and exciting.  Every member of the cast was exceptionally good in his part and came up the standard set by St. Irenaeus school for its program.

Rev. Comerford's address dealt with the subject of Catholic education.  He emphasized the need of such knowledge in the future lives of the class, and advised the students to continue the good work began at St. Irenaeus.
