Kenneth Lee Parrish
22 June 1922 ---- 18 October 1995

Kenneth Lee Parrish was born on June 22, 1922, the son of Walter and Reva Tyrell Parrish at Woolstock, Iowa. He received his education in the Eagle Grove School System. He worked for various employers prior to entering the United States Air Force on December 28, 1942 at Camp Dodge. He served during World War II having been stationed in England for most of his tour of duty. He was awarded his honorable discharge on October 14, 1945 at AAF Spearation Center, Randolph Field, Texas. He returned to Eagle Grove and was united in marriage to Freda Thoma on November 27, 1946 at Barnum. He was employed by Farmland Industries in Eagle Grove for 22 years prior to his retirement in 1984.

Kenneth Lee Parrish died at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on October 18,1995, after being admitted on October 10. He had attained the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 26 days.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Parrish, Eagle Grove; son, Michael of Eagle Grove; daughters, Carol Slauson and her husband James of Lake Wells, Fla., Janice Terwilliger and her husband Randy of Eagle Grove, and Melody Pletsch and her husband Dale of Belmond; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter J. Parrish of Thor; 2 sisters, Marie Pletsch of Van Nuys, Calif., and Edythe Moe and her husband Stanley of Clarion; and a sister-in-law, Helen Parrish of Elisnore, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Parrish.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 21,1995, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa, with Father Wayne Droessler officiating the 10:30 a.m. services. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home Ltd. of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
