Hattie Lester, the daughter Robert H. and Hettie Lewis Lester, was born at Gibson in Mahaska County, Iowa. She died at the Ramsey Memorial Home in Des Moines on Wednesday evening, Nov. 5, 1980. She attained the age of 83 years, seven months and 26 days.

She attended school at Gibson and later lived at Palisade, Colo.; Magnolia, Minn.; Clarion and then moved to Goldfield. Hattie moved to the Ramsey Home in April of 1968. She was a member of the Christian Church.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Zena Morton of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Vera Lester of New Hampton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Lester of Goldfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Ina Holland and Evelyn Lester; and two brothers, Harry and Floyd Lester.

Funeral services for Hattie Lester were held on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Rev. Lester Hancock of Goldfield officiated and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.
