Eloise W. Hansen, the daughter of George arid Lola (Knox) Hawkins, was born on September 9, 1912, in Goldfield, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Goldfield High School in 1931.

Eloise was united in marriage to Robert P. Hansen on April 7, 1933, at her parent's home in Goldfield. Eloise and Robert farmed in the Evergreen Neighborhood, near Goldfield, for 40 years. They retired and moved to their present home in Goldfield in 1974.

Eloise was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield, Presbyterian Women, Alpha Delphian Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Evergreen Sporting Association, and the Evergreen D.O.C. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.

Survivors include her husband, Robert P. Hansen; son, Richard Hansen and wife, Karlene, Goldfield; daughter, Diane Cumming, Ames; grandchildren: Kim McCollough, Goldfield, Jody Luh, North Tonawanda, N. Y., Chris Cumming, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., Tracy Cumming, Burlingame, Calif., and Todd Cumming, Ames; 4 step grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hansen passed away on Monday, January 6, 2003 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, at the age of 90 years. Preceding her in death are her parents, George and Lola Hawkins; brother, Robert Hawkins; sister, Gwendolyn Hawkins France; and an infant grandson, Robert Scott Hansen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2003, 1:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with Rev. Ellen G. Brantley officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
