21 April 1904 --- 19 June 1955

Raymond Jones, 51, died Sunday at the University hospital in Iowa City after several months of illness following several major operations. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife and son, Jerry.

Funeral services will he held Thursday (today) at the Samuel Lutheran church in Eagle Grove at 2 p.m. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. B. F. Molstre and Rev. Clifford Brooks, officiating.

Richard Raymond Jones, adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel E. Jones, was born April 21, 1904 at St. Louis. Mo. He lived with his parents at Waverly, Iowa in his early childhood. In 1918, the Jones family moved to a farm near Clarion, Iowa. He farmed until 1937 when he moved to Goldfield, and became a beekeeper and a railroad fireman on the Chicago Great Western. November 18, 1942 he was united in marriage to Vivian Kallem. They established their home in Goldfield. February 23, 1955 he was hospitalized at Iowa City and submitted to major surgery. After being discharged from the hospital, he remained at his home for a few days. Again it became necessary for him to be a patient at a hospital. He was a patient at Clarion hospital unit l the first, part of June when he was again a patient at Iowa City hospital, where he remained until his death, Sunday, June 19.

He is survived by his wife and a seven year old son, Gerald, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from Wilson-Sacquety Funeral Chapel June 23, at 1:30 p.m. and from Samuel Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:00 p.m. Pastor B. F. Molstre officiated. Kenneth Sandven sang accompanied by Mrs. Sandven.

Interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery.
