Helen Elizabeth Mitchell
5 July 1892 --- 20 July 1962

Helen Elizabeth Mitchell was born July 5, 1892 to Harriett Fothergill and Sample C. Mitchell at Eagle Grove, Iowa. Departed this life July 20, 1962 at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, Iowa. A lifelong resident of Eagle Grove, she attended the community schools, graduating from Eagle Grove high school with the class of 1911.

She was employed as bookkeeper at the Security Savings Bank for over 35 years until a heart condition curtailed her activities. She was a member of the Methodist church which she served in numerous capacities, one of which was church treasurer for years. She was an active member of the Equality Club, serving it as president and treasurer.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, July 23 with the Rev. Lyle Lieder and Dr. Clarence Tompkins of Fort Dodge officiating. Interment in the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery.
