Mrs. Rebecca Bookhart 87, a resident of Woodbury County for nearly 70 years, died early Monday morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Mortensen, at Bronson. Her death was the result of a paralytic stroke suffered a week before.

Mrs. Bookhart was born July 15, 1851, in Mercer County, Pa. After a short residence in Illinois, Mrs. Bookhart settled in Woodbury County on a farm near Lawton, where she remained until this winter. She was a member of the Methodist church. Her husband preceded her in death 22 years ago.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Paulina Johnson of Bronson; three brothers, Perry Ross of Lawton, James Ross of Pierre, and Frank Ross of Grants Pass, Ore.; three sons, George of Verndale, Minn and Frank and Harry of Sioux City, and five daughters, Mrs. Phoebe Fatz of Sioux City, Mrs. Laura M. Powers of Sebastopol Cal, Mrs. Irene Eiler and Mrs. Amie O'Bryan of Lawton, and Mrs. Mortensen.

The body is at the Stiles funeral home at Moville pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
