Percy E. Gay 1892 - 1939

Percy E. Gay, 46, of 3632 Vine died Sunday morning in a local hospital, after being ill eight days with pneumonia.

Born October 17, 1892, in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Mr. Gay had lived there most of his life and was a member of the Methodist Church there. He married Miss Florence Kennedy, August 11, 1917, in St. Paul Minnesota. Mr. Gay had been an employee of the state highway commission since 1925.

Surviving are his widow and two children at home, Henry Everett and Dorothea; four brothers, Bert of Salix, Iowa and Albert, Harold and Howard of Sergeant Bluff and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Grover and Miss Jennie Gay, both of Sioux City and Mrs. Lee Godfredson, Sergeant Bluff.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Sergeant Bluff Community Church with Rev. Fred Grantham officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Christy’s Morningside Funeral Home.
